Our PTO Community

Annual Recurring Events

Fall Bash

Fall bash is the Carrillo PTO's annual big community-wide event to celebrate all things fall and spooky! Family, friends and neighbors can enjoy many free activities or enhance their experience by purchasing a wristband for even more fun. Past activities have included inflatables, a rock wall, kid-size hamster ball track and a petting zoo! We always have games, crafts, trick or treat stations, a pumpkin patch, Carrillo spirit wear and food to enjoy!

USMC Fundraiser & Flag Salute

After Fall Bash we move right into giving season with our fundraiser to benefit the Marines and their families at Camp Pendleton. Carrillo families are invited to donate household goods which are collected by our local girl scout troop during morning drop off. All of the items we collect are presented to the Marines at a special flag salute. Breakfast and lunch are provided to our heroes as they spend the day with our students. This is a very unique and moving event!

Festival of Lights

Celebrate the holiday season with Carrillo's Festival of Lights. Families, friends and neighbors are invited to walk through our campus after dark to view lights and decorations outside of each classroom. The SEMS jazz band will perform this year as well as our very own Leo Carrillo singers. Sip hot chocolate and enjoy a treat while you listen to these talented musicians. Holiday light up necklaces and Carrillo Colts spirit wear will also be available for purchase.

Book Fair

Twice per year the Scholastic Book Fair comes to the multi-purpose room. Shop before or after school or during a coinciding special event. Payment options include setting up a digital wallet for your student to shop during their special class visit to the book fair. There is also an option to donate money to the "Book Fairy". Children with limited funds will be able to choose a book.

Sweetheart's Dance

Join us for this fun family event held each February. Past themes have included Hogwarts and Mad Hatter's Ball. Dress up for our semi-formal event where Carrillo students bring a parent, grandparent or other loved one to our school dance.

WoW (Wings of the Wise) Scholarship

The WoW Scholarship honors a former Carrillo Colt. This is a one-time scholarship of $1,000.00 awarded to a high school graduating senior as they further their education. We pride ourselves in creating life long learners and love how this inspires our young Colts to keep learning and always be curious. Click here for the application. Deadline to submit is May 3, 2024.
